Department of Architecture provides an architectural education that aims at researching and critical thinking within innovation and technological development, ethical and aesthetic values, protection of natural resources, environmental awareness, and protection of historical heritage, and foresees the multi-faceted development of its students. The program aims to train architects who have gained effective reading and writing, critical thinking, forms of expression, research, design, and teamwork skills, as well as compete nationally and internationally.

The aim of the department is to be competent in theory and practice, equivalent to universal criteria in education; To train architects and academics who are creative, inquisitive, and have an innovative thinking system, considering environmental factors and their own values. The department has an innovative and dynamic vision that focuses on creative pedagogies in architectural education.” Architect candidates from this section; gained knowledge and skills in theory, design, practice, and professional ethics; It aims to train academics who can produce and research knowledge in the basic fields of architecture, who can establish a relationship between theory and practice, and who have a voice in national and international platforms. In this context;

            Environmental Awareness and Use of Natural Resources;
 
Developing technology and changing practices, population growth, and the related problems in using resources create sensitivity in protecting the environment and natural resources in all productions in architecture. From the design to the implementation process, the decisions taken at all stages are directly related to the use of natural resources and environmental awareness. In architectural education, it is aimed to train architect candidates who have gained an awareness of public and social benefits, environmental awareness, and can examine the components that shape the physical environment and have gained competence in using natural resources in design.
 
            Innovations and Technological Development;
 
Technological development affects and directs all areas of our life, leading to new spatial needs or requirements. In architectural vocational education, there are important points in the evaluation of spatial organization with current conditions and material selection, etc. It is aimed to gain the ability to absorb innovations and technological developments in architectural education and to transfer them to architectural services.
 
            Ethical and Aesthetic Values;
 
The program aims to gain the ability to make architectural designs and applications that are necessary and sufficient in using environmental awareness and natural resources, protect and maintain historical and cultural heritage, observe national and international experience and standards, keep up with innovations and technological developments, and take ethical and aesthetic values into account.
 
           Conservation and Survival of Historical Heritage;
 
The preservation and continuity of historical values are important in carrying cultural heritage to the future. The architectural profession has very important responsibilities in research and application issues to be carried out in protecting historical and cultural heritage at international standards. In the architecture program, it is aimed that the students gain knowledge and skills that observe the universal rules and values within the protection and survival of the historical heritage.
